POSTGRADUATE COURSE

This one-day course will be on Sunday, 7th December 2003. It is suitable for research students or people contemplating a research degree. It is organised by Professor Mark Westoby, Macquarie University, in association with the Ecological Society of Australia and the Australasian Evolution Society, as a yearly event held in conjunction with the annual meeting of the ESA.

Activities for the day will include:
· 6-8 short talks from leading researchers on the most interesting recent research in various areas of ecology and evolution
· focus groups for students to discuss topics and report back, and
· talks about methods and about applying ecological research.

The full cost of $75 covers:
· transport from Armidale airport or Armidale train station to UNE on Saturday afternoon
· lunch and morning and afternoon tea on the Sunday, and
· dinner on Saturday night.
