Prizes and awards

Student Research Awards

Postgraduate Students undertaking field work or other research-related travel may apply for a Student Research Award. The maximum individual award is $1000. To be eligible, applicants must be a member of the Society and not have previously won a research award from the Society. 

Students should complete the application form available here in PDF or RTF.

Applicants are also to provide two referees in support of their proposal. Referees should comment on both the quality of student and project. We are interested in distinguishing enthusiastic, independent researchers. A referee's report form can be downloaded here in PDF or RTF.

There will be two rounds of applications each year. 2009 dates are: 30 April and 30 October.

Successful applicants will be required to provide a report of their activities for inclusion in the ESA Bulletin.
