ESA GOVERNANCE

As an Incorporated Society, The Ecological Society has a series of formal documents that guide its activities and delivery of member services. These are provided below for information:

Constitution

The Constitution was first published in 1976 on the incorporation of the Society. Minor amendments were made in 2005, 2008, 2010 & 2011 and passed by members at the respective AGM.

Strategic Plan 2011 - 2015

The current Strategic Plan was developed following a Strategic Planning Council Retreat in Brisbane in February 2011 and ratified at the meeting of Council on April 8th 2011.

Outputs for ESA Council 2012

As part of implementing the Strategic and Business Plans, Council has developed a list of anticipated outputs for 2012. This document is provided above for the information of members and all members are invited get involved in any of the issues that takes their interest.

Business Plan 2011 - 2015

The current Business Plan was developed in 2011 by the Finance Working Group to align with the Strategic Plan 2011-2015. It was ratified at the meeting of Council on August 12th 2011.

Financial Governance & Investment Policy

An operational framework developed to complement the Strategic and Business Plans, and inform and guide management of the Society financial resources.

Public Liaison Guidelines

Public Liaison is a critical component of ESA activity in promoting scientific study and awareness. These Public Liaison Guidelines have been developed as central guiding principles in any ESA public liaison undertaken by office bearers or members on behalf of the Society.

Guidelines for use of the ESA logo

The ESA logo can be used by Council and members in promoting the Society and ESA activities, and by external organisations when linking with ESA in events or projects. Details for correct use of the logo were ratified by ESA Executive at its meeting of May 13, 2011 and are provided at the link above.
