Regional events
Great opportunities are available for local members to meet and
share their interests with each other and the wider public. ESA
supports events that bring attention to ecological issues and
create community within the region. ESA provides financial support
for activities that are of benefit to our members. If you have
an idea for a regional activity, contact your Regional Councillor.
Upcoming Events
South Australia Regional Event
The Ecological Society of Australia invites members to attend a South Australia regional event:
Writing Grant Proposals: Tips for addressing the criteria effectively
In this 2-hour, interactive workshop, Dr Margaret Cargill* will use examples of successful and unsuccessful grant applications for ecological-based research (under $10 000) to highlight strategies likely to enhance success. These strategies will focus on writing applications that address the assessors’ requirements clearly and explicitly. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions throughout the workshop and share their own past applications in a rare opportunity to obtain independent constructive feedback.
This workshop is free to ESA members and includes finger food, beer, wine and soft drinks.
When: 4.00 – 6.00 pm, Wednesday, 2 November 2011
Where: Maddigan Room (122), Mawson laboratories, North Terrace, University of Adelaide, Adelaide
What to bring (opt): example grant applications and criteria from the grant body
To register your attendance please email your name, contact details and membership number (opt) or, for new members, the date you submitted your application to join ESA, to SA@ecolsoc.org.au or visit www.ecolsoc.org.au
Closing date for registrations is 28th October, places are limited
