Yourka Reserve sits in the Einasleigh Uplands. It covers a variety of geology that forms the range, resulting in a variety of ecosystems from tall wet eucalypt forests to open Iron Bark and Lemon-scented Gum woodlands down to riparian lowland woodlands. Its residents comprise of some 140 bird, 18 native mammal and nearly 300 plant species. All are protected thanks to the generosity of our supporters.
About the role
This fantastic role supports the Healthy Landscape Manager, Northern Savannah, to ensure the day to day management of Yourka Reserve meets the goals of Bush Heritage. This position is based on Yourka Reserve and will manage and work in collaboration with non-reserve staff.
You will have relevant work experience and hold certifications and training indicated in the Position Description. Ideally you will have experience and understand working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, pastoral communities, and the development and maintenance of relationships with these communities. In addition, you will have experience or the desire to work and live in a remote environment along with practical workshop skills including repairs, maintenance and experience operating and recovering 4WD vehicles in a variety of conditions. It is essential that you have a manual Australian driver’s license.
