2017 Regional Event Grants
Applications open April 30 - June 30
Each year ESA offers a limited number of grants of up to $1000 to support ecology related local activities or events around Australia. Eligible activities may include ( but are not limited to!):
- research chapter events
- public forums
- citizen science events
- field days etc
Anything that brings people together around ecology is considered. It can include partnering with other local events or organisations as long as the ESA support is appropriately acknowledged and promoted.
The current grant round is open from April 30 closing June 30.
Application is available to all ESA members. You must be a current financial member to apply.
Applicants must be a financial member of the Society to apply. ESA must be acknowledged as a funding partner on all promotional & event materials. Successful recipients will need to provide a final report including images for the website and bulletin after the event, and provide proof of expenditure and a reconciled budget.

How to apply:
Simply contact us to discuss your proposal and then complete the online form below and submit by 5pm (local time in your State), on the application closing date.
Applications will be assessed by the ESA Board. Decisions on allocations will be assessed based on three criteria:
- priority in the strategic plan (available here)
- to facilitate member engagement & outreach &/or directors achieving their portfolio aims; and
- equity in allocation of money across a range of activities.
