A scholarship is available to study a squirrel glider population living in remnant habitat in Brisbane. The project aims to understand how squirrel gliders respond to an approved development which may lead to a short-term loss of some habitat but a long-term increase in habitat area. The study will track the population over time and investigate how squirrel gliders respond to a range of mitigation measures.
The successful student should have First Class Honours (or equivalent) in vertebrate ecology. The stipend is for $30,000 p.a. for 3 years. Travel and accommodation expenses will be supported by the project.
