International River Symposium – online 10-13 November

We would like to invite you and members of your organisation to take part in this year’s Riversymposium.

As we come to terms with a new way of working and communicating, the International RiverFoundation is proud to announce that the International Riversymposium will run from 10-13 November 2020and be held virtually for the first time in its 23-year history. Riversymposium is a unique global forum for river managers, policy developers, scientists, consultants, students, NGOs, indigenous and community organisations and business and industry representatives to collaborate to improve the sustainable management of river basins all over the world.

The theme for the 2020 International Riversymposium is “Valuing our Rivers” – it recognises the critical role that our rivers play as social, ecological, cultural, economic and political assets to society. Global change continues to put pressure on these critical resources, and we need to ensure that our rivers will be there to provide services for future generations.

While delegates can expect the same high standard of eminent speakers, enriching content, capacity to network as previous Riversymposiums, there are also a number of new initiatives that an online platform has allowed including RiverGallery, RiverTrivia and virtual study tours.

To register, please visit

We look forward to seeing you online.
