Member Media Services
Our members do some truly groundbreaking and topical research but getting the word out to the broader community and to the policy makers can be really problematic. ESA has recently partnered with an online media service provider which provides a 'self-help' platform to assist members to develop and broadcast media releases effectively. Members will be able to use this service to publicise and promote their research within a set of established guidelines and protocols currently under development by the ESA Communications working group. Public Liaison is a critical component of ESA activity in promoting scientific study and awareness. These Public Liaison Guidelines have been developed as central guiding principles in any ESA public liaison undertaken by office bearers or members on behalf of the Society.
Our Logo: The winding and unending thread of the ESA logo symbolises the unity and connectedness of everything on earth, and of ecosystems in particular. The logo was designed in 1971. Use of the logo by external organisations is at the sole discretion of ESA Council.
ESA is often approached by government or other organisations to comment on draft policy or project documents as part of a wider consultation process. Current issues open for comment are listed here with details on how to respond and due dates.
