In light of the current COVID-19 situation in Australia and associated travel restrictions we have made the decision to move ESA2021 online. This will enable the conference to be accessible to as many people as possible and best reflect the breadth and depth of work being conducted on Australian ecology.
With this change in format we have reopened the call for abstracts and workshops until August 31. Abstracts and workshops that have already been submitted for ESA2021 do not need to be resubmitted.
Please note that while plenaries and keynote speakers will be streamed live, presenters will be asked to pre-record their presentations.
For those who have already registered for ESA2021 we will be in contact to discuss options for refund. For those who would like to register for ESA2021, the registration portal and list of updated fees can be found on the conference website here. Early bird registrations now close 31 October.
As travel to ESA2021 will no longer be required, travel grants have now been closed. The funds for these grants will be rolled over to a future year to support more people to attend an in-person event.
We are saddened that we will not be meeting in the beauty of tropical Darwin this year but will make sure that the conference returns to the Top End in the near future. Thank you to the Darwin Local Organising Committee for all the work they have invested. We greatly look forward to meeting in person again when circumstances permit.
